Weekly Pub Quiz Questions and Answers
Every Sunday we write a ready-made current affairs round of ten questions from the past week's news, and we send it free to everyone on our Substack as a printable PDF with an answer sheet. While we're digging through the week's stories we always find more than ten good questions, so the spares go on this page. They're not in the emailed round, which means you can use both on the same night.
What happened this week: quiz questions and answers for 25 to 31 October 2026
The answers are hidden under each question, so you can test yourself first. If you're reading them out, the four options make it a multiple choice round, or leave them off if your teams like it harder.

Need the rest of the night? Ready-made rounds
Want the whole night done for you? Our ready-made pub quiz packs have six rounds and 68 questions: two general knowledge rounds plus picture rounds and dingbats, all with answer sheets. Add this week's news round from above and you've got seven rounds sorted.
- Ready Made Pub Quiz Pack 1: general knowledge, London landmarks, 90s TV dingbats, car logos and 70s pop stars
- Ready Made Pub Quiz Pack 2: general knowledge, chocolate adverts, 70s TV dingbats, European flags and Doctor Who actors
A news round only fills ten questions. If you need the rest of the evening sorted, we make printable picture rounds, dingbats and themed quizzes, all with answer sheets. Our dingbats are good for keeping tables busy during the break, the TV quizzes and advert quizzes make easy picture rounds, and there's a Christmas page if you're planning that far ahead. Everything is an instant PDF download from our Etsy shop.
Running a pub quiz with these
Most pub quizzes run to six or eight rounds of ten questions, which takes about two hours once you've allowed for marking and a break in the middle. A news round sits well near the start, while everyone is still fresh and arguing about what they read on Tuesday. Then you can move on to a picture round, a music round and whatever else you've got. There's more on all this in our guide to how to host a pub quiz.
Read each question twice, slowly, and don't give out the options until you've read the question through. Get teams to swap answer sheets for marking, because it's quicker and it stops anyone being too generous with themselves. If a team comes up with a sensible answer you hadn't thought of, give them the point. Nobody has ever enjoyed a quiz more because the quizmaster won an argument.
Keep a tiebreaker in your back pocket. A question with a number for an answer works best ("how many bottles were stolen in Italy's biggest wine heist?"), and the closest team wins, whether they're over or under. We've got a list of tiebreaker questions and answers if you need some.
